Module 1 Summary

1. An individual’s job performance is mostly driven by his/her Capabilities and Competencies.
2. Capabilities are largely in – born, while Competencies are largely learned.
3. Of the two, Capabilities (EQ and IQ) are the main drivers of individual job performance.
4. The cost of recruitment is significant, both in financial and non – financial terms
5. The selection process should therefore be integrated and well designed to mitigate against poor (drag and drain) hiring decisions and to ensure good (wind in your sails) ones.
